​Cape Maclear is a vibrant traditional fishing village situated in Mangochi district, on the Southern end of Lake Malawi. With sandy beaches nestled between a stretch of mountains, and the blazing blue water of the lake, it is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Malawi.

Directions

By Car From Lilongwe or Blantyre:

Take the well sign posted road toward Monkey Bay.​ About 5 KM before you reach Monkey Bay, you will arrive at a turn off with an Energem Filling Station to the left. Take that turn off and follow the road for about 15 KM, which is a gravel road that turns into a tarred road after 5 KM. Turn right at the second sign posted turn off. At the end of that road, take a left, and you will find Mgoza Lodge on your right hand side.

By Bus From Lilongwe or Blantyre:

​There are several buses leaving daily from Lilongwe and Blantyre to Monkey Bay. From there, you can travel to Cape Maclear via motorbike taxi, minibus, or private taxi.
